Our planet in Ender's Game, 50 years in the future, is "an Earth worth saving." It's not an over-industrialized wasteland, but a post-oil society with plenty of wind turbines and solar panels throughout. The designers have even adopted biophilia, a concept that embraces nature as a basic interior design element.
